Doctoral works were analyzed because those serve as the best representation of the research interest of doctoral students in the field of horticulture at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV) and Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UBKV), West Bengal, India. In this context content analysis is one of the most important bibliometric techniques involving analysis of the references forming part of primary communication. Content analysis of doctoral works is the products of research activities that form an important source of information. This study is the first of its kind to study the bibliometric indicators in the subject domain like Indian horticulture. It is hoped that this book will be useful for practicing librarians and information scientists working in agricultural university and will provide guiding principles for acquisition policy.

Dr. Santosh kumar Tunga started his carrier as Project Assistant from the ISI Library, Kolkata in 1997. Now Dr. Tunga is working as College Librarian with Associate Rank of the Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College, Naihati, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India since 1998. His area of interest lies in Bibliometric Analysis and Library Statistics.
