Beschreibung
How does a child perceive itself in relation to its environment? What influencing factors, e.g. in the form of outside care, play a role in this? In the first years of life, the development of children's self-concept is shaped by their confrontation with themselves and their environment - which traditionally consists primarily of the family. The book provides a comprehensive theoretical overview of self-concept development in the first years of life and of the factors that influence children's self-assessment. In a study with 86 children aged four and their caregivers, the importance of early childhood for self-concept development is highlighted, taking crèche care into account.
