Beschreibung
The volume opens with Ehrenfels' classic paper of 1890 ,On 'Gestalt-qualities'" ("Über 'Gestaltqualitäten'"). It is followed by a short summary of the fundamental features of the concept of a Gestalt, written by Ehrenfels only a few months before his death, and contains also a selection of other contributions to psychology, in particular those writings that are connected with Ehrenfels' theory of value. The writings on ethics are mainly a continuation of the second part of the System of Value Theory, reprinted in vol. I. They also touch on a related topic - Ehrenfels' ideas concerning the reform of social and sexual morality. Although Ehrenfels never published systematic investigation in the theory of knowledge, the volume contains a number of interesting, short pieces on the question of ,"unprovable knowledge". An Original investigation of the law of prime numbers is also included in this epistemological section. The volume is completed by two previously unpublished papers from Ehrenfels' literary remains. Of interest to: Philosophers, anthropologists, psychologists, philologists, and sociologists
