THE BOOK The collection of five given papers and presentations from conferences between 2004 and 2008 are discussion paper. The perspectives of the essays are based on biomedical ethics and legal reflections. The papers were presented on important international conferences and congresses. Included are the following talks: "Biotechnology and Economy: An ethical conflict of interest?", Human Biobanks - Trustees and aspects of the current German discussion", "Biobanking and genetic testing: Am comparison between European countries and India", "New Epidemics: A chance for Social rights, Justice and Health?" and "Genetic testing, pharmacogenetics, privacy and the responsibility of doctors in clinical trials". The author hopes that this collection will stimulate further discussion.

Autorenportrait

Dr. phil. Dr. rer. publ. Brigitte E.S. Jansen studied Educational Science, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology at the Universities of Bielefeld and Lüneburg, Germany. She is doctor of philosophy and doctor rerum publicarum (public administration). Beside this she also has a practical agricultural degree. She developed the first multi-media work report in management cybernetic (Heidelberg 1996). From 1991 - 1996 she was project leader of FOKUS, the Research Group of Cybernetic Company Strategy, Institut of Business Administration (Organisation and Decision Making), University of Lüneburg.
