Beschreibung

Theoretical studies predict that the first stars must have been very massive. The mass is a decisive parameter for the nucleosynthesis processes in any star. Numerical simulations provide information on the characteristic fingerprints of the ejecta of massive and supermassive stars. The Comparisons with high-resolution observations of abundancies of the intergalactic medium in the early Universe, i.e. at high redshifts, allow us to conclude on the properties of the very first stars in the Universe.

Autorenportrait

Dr. Peter Erni has a broad background in academia, industry and the public administration. In his PhD thesis he looked at traces found in the early Universe to unveil the nature of the very first stars in the Universe. He also tested the phenomena of so-called Dark Clumps that show gravitational effects but are not confirmed by direct observation.
