The history of the TH in Vienna in the era from the Anschluss to 1955, when the State Treaty gave Austria its independence back and the Austrian Hochschulen were provided with a common legal basis for the first time through the Hochschul Organisation Act (Hochschulorganisationsgesetz, is marked by numerous profound changes. In addition to addressing administrative developments and the involvement of the TH in the wartime economy, this volume also takes a close look at the staff fluctuations of the time: the expulsion of "racially" or politically disfavoured members of the TH, the denazification after the collapse of Nazi power, and the main features of human resource decisions from 1938 to 1955.
